East Mississippi Community College breaks down barriers:
Where the barrier is geographical, EMCC offers classes at many locations throughout
its six-county district.
Where the barrier is related to personal or work schedules, EMCC offers day, night, and online classes.
Where the barrier is financial, EMCC offers tuition assistance for new students who
live in and graduated from high schools in
Clay, Kemper, Lauderdale, Lowndes, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, and Calhoun county,
as well as a full array of institutional scholarships and financial aid for qualifying
students.
East Mississippi Community College believes that qualified students should not be
denied
an education because of financial need. To meet this commitment, EMCC offers assistance
to students through a number of financial aid programs — including Tuition Assistance,
EMCC scholarships, grants, loans and campus employment.
"I was one of the first in line at registration and there was just a really quick process. I came in and I talked to a counselor and I just got the perfect schedule that I wanted and I was out of here by noon."
"You've really been supportive. You've helped me choose what I want to do in the long run. You've helped me with college planning, not for one or two colleges, but for three or four colleges. You've helped me get further along not only in what I want to do in psychology -- but where I want to see myself in the future."

"Coming out here, you get a chance to work around in different classes, work with different people who have studied. We have people here who have worked for NASA, worked in labs, are nurses or have been nurses. You have an opportunity to meet people who have done what you potentially want to do."

"The Back to School Bash is pretty nice. You get some free time, you get to hang out with new people, meet new people, listen to music, do new things and get information about things around here. It helps out with your future."
